The North Arrow Cafe sits at 406 Church Street in Franklin, TN, just off Main Street in the heart of Downtown Franklin. We are a veteran-owned, gospel-driven specialty coffee shop pouring the same specialty beans we serve our online subscribers, served a block from the Square in Franklin, TN. If you have walked the brick sidewalks past Landmark Booksellers, parked near Five Points, or wandered down toward the Harpeth River, you have walked past us.
What it feels like
Mornings here start slow and get loud in the best way. The grinder kicks on around 6:45, the espresso machine hisses to life, and by 7am the first regulars are already pulling chairs around our outdoor seating on Church Street. You will hear the bells from First Presbyterian, smell fresh espresso meeting brown-sugar cinnamon syrup, and watch Downtown Franklin wake up one dog-walker, stroller, and to-go cup at a time.
We are walk-in only, no drive-thru, no shortcut. That is on purpose. Come in, say hello, take a beat. Public parking is easy on 3rd Avenue, in the Franklin Theatre lot, and along Church Street itself.
Specialty coffee, done our way
Every cup we pour is built on carefully selected, specialty-grade beans. Espresso, pour-over, cold brew, and seasonal single origins rotate through the bar, and our baristas will happily geek out about origin, tasting notes, or what is hitting right today.
House-made syrups
We make our flavored syrups in-house, in small batches, using real ingredients. The current lineup includes:
- Vanilla bean
- Brown-sugar cinnamon
- Lavender honey
- Maple pecan
- Salted caramel
No mystery bottles, no high-fructose corn syrup, no artificial color.
Clean-ingredient food
The pastry case and breakfast menu follow the same rule as the bar: real ingredients, sourced thoughtfully, baked locally. Expect quiches, scones, breakfast sandwiches, and seasonal sweets that read like a list of food, not a chemistry set. It is the kind of menu you can hand a kid without squinting at the label.
