How to Choose a Christian Coffee Company

"Christian coffee" should mean more than a cross printed on the bag. Some companies are mission-driven; others are just mission-flavored. Here is how to tell the difference before you subscribe — and what actually matters.

1. Follow the money: how much, and where?

A faith label is easy to print. A giving commitment is not. Look for a company that names a specific percentage and specific causes — not a vague "a portion of proceeds." At North Arrow, we give 15% of every sale to protect the preborn, support mothers in crisis, and strengthen families. A real number and a real destination are the first thing to check.

2. Is the mission the point, or the packaging?

For some brands, faith is a marketing layer added on top of a coffee business. For others, the coffee exists to fund the mission. Ask which one you are buying. We are a Christian coffee company with a pro-life mission first; serving outstanding coffee is simply how we fund the work.

3. Who owns it, and what do they stand for?

Transparency matters. Are the founders named? Do they live the values on the label? North Arrow was founded by two military veterans, and we honor fellow veterans and first responders with a standing 10% discount. You should be able to see who you are supporting.

4. The coffee still has to be good

A good cause is not an excuse for a stale cup. Look for specialty-grade coffee (scored 80+ on the SCA scale), roasted to order and shipped fresh. You should never have to choose between coffee that does good and coffee that tastes good.

5. Beware the fear marketing

Some coffee brands sell by scaring you — "everyone else's coffee is full of mold and toxins." That is a sales tactic, not science. A company confident in its sourcing does not need to frighten you into a subscription. (We wrote the honest version here: is there mold in your coffee?)

Where North Arrow lands

Christian, pro-life, veteran-owned, specialty-grade, and transparent about the 15% we give. If those are your criteria, we would be honored to earn your cup. Read what the Bible says about the sanctity of life, or shop coffee that stands for life.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a coffee company "Christian"?

There is no certification, so look at substance over labels: a stated faith mission, transparent ownership, and a specific, verifiable giving commitment. North Arrow gives 15% of every sale to protect the preborn, support mothers, and strengthen families.

How much should a give-back coffee company donate?

There is no rule, but favor companies that publish a specific percentage and name the causes rather than saying "a portion of proceeds." North Arrow gives 15% of every sale to named life-affirming work.

What is the best Christian coffee company?

The best one for you is the one whose mission, giving, and coffee quality you can actually verify. North Arrow is a veteran-owned, pro-life Christian coffee company that gives 15% of every sale and roasts specialty-grade coffee to order.

Is Christian coffee different from regular coffee?

The coffee itself is judged the same way — specialty grade, freshly roasted. The difference is where your money goes. With North Arrow, 15% of every sale funds pro-life and family-strengthening work.
